Denise Needs A Tutor
This photo is part of an article published in a nonprofit organization’s monthly newsletter. The article’s objective is to recruit more volunteers to serve as Tutors in Austin, Texas.
Denise is a 15-year-old middle school student who participates in Austin Independent School District’s (AISD’s) VICTORY Tutoring Program. She meets her volunteer tutor at the library once a week to work on the school subjects that she finds most challenging, especially math. Like the other 500 students in the VICTORY Tutoring Program, Denise hopes that there will be a tutor available for her when school starts again this fall. Many students young and old are seeking tutors and there are not enough volunteers to go around. If you’ve ever considered tutoring, now’s the time.
